About this Job
LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry, Department of Oral Surgery is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Health Information Coordinator 1, 2 or 3.
These positions are in a Career Progression Group.
As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a (Health Information Coordinator 1, 2 or 3) depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). Pay is dependent upon applicants' qualifications. There is an additional $1 Longevity Pay for hours worked only.

Duties and Responsibilities included but not limited to:
Will have knowledge of HIC1 and HIC 2 duties.
-Receives and ensures that all referral paperwork submitted is processed.
-Enters all the patient data in WinOMS, Axium, and one drive.
-Advise patients on insurance specific guidelines and notify them of non-covered services.
-Collects payments from patient for services.
-Completes encounter slips for billing
-Secure all payment deposits
-Ensures the scheduling of all follow up visits
-Assists in reviewing accounts receivables and clearing out reports as needed
-Assists with obtaining medical clearance from outside medical doctors, track clearances assuring approval was received as needed.
-Communicates well with diverse population of patients, faculty, students, and staff.

Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience in administrative services; OR
One year of training in or completion of a business or clerical-related curriculum from a business school or technical institute.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the required general experience.
