As the Engineering Director of U.S. Construction at Micron Technology, Inc., you will have the unique opportunity to lead a world-class, multi-discipline engineering team. This role involves guiding first and second-level managers to ensure alignment and partnership with the Central Engineering group. You will be responsible for providing construction engineering project designs, field engineering services, systems commissioning, and turnover services to the facilities management team. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Construction, you will oversee active mega-projects in both Boise, Idaho, and Clay, New York, for our Semiconductor Manufacturing Construction Organization.
Responsibilities:
Lead and develop a high-performing U.S. construction engineering team by providing expert guidance across design, construction, operations, and maintenance, while fostering a culture of coaching, engagement, and technical excellence across all disciplines.
Drive strategic alignment and execution by setting departmental goals, monitoring KPIs, supporting Micron's initiatives, and delivering innovative, cost-effective engineering solutions that overcome project challenges and align with site construction priorities.
Lead engineering execution for U.S. Greenfield and Brownfield FAB projects by overseeing design development and service during construction (SDC), ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery through proactive field engagement, technical guidance, and issue resolution.
Drive cross-functional collaboration and engineering excellence by aligning with global and regional partners, enforcing best practices, managing design changes, and supporting cost and schedule estimates while ensuring compliance with standards and sustainability goals.
Collaborate across global and cross-functional teams to align on multi-discipline initiatives, drive construction productivity, and meet project cost and milestone targets through proactive issue resolution and strategic planning.
Enable executive decision-making and program success by developing and communicating departmental goals, execution plans, and updates, while advising senior and executive leadership on key strategic directions.
Provide technical leadership and domain expertise by guiding engineering teams, supporting construction sites with problem-solving, and driving improvements in system design for performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Foster cross-functional collaboration and innovation by partnering with global teams, benchmarking best practices, and staying current on industry standards, emerging technologies, and sustainability trends.
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters / PhD Degree or equivalent experience in facilities engineering
Minimum 15 years' engineering experience in semiconductor and/or facilities related industry
10+ years of experience building and leading teams to perform to meet strategic objectives
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP certification
PhD in Facilities Engineering
3 + years of experience with automation dashboard software such as Power BI, Power Automate
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$135,500.00 - $237,500.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
