Overview:
Tawas Bay Beach Resort is seeking a highly organized, hands-on Kitchen Manager to oversee the daily operations of our restaurant kitchen. This role requires a motivated leader with a passion for food, team development, and delivering high-quality dining experiences. The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff, managing inventory and food costs, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring a positive and productive work environment
Develop weekly staff schedules and adjust to meet business demands
Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed while minimizing waste
Monitor food and labor costs to meet budgetary goals
Ensure all food is prepared according to health and safety standards and resort quality expectations
Collaborate with the General Manager and front-of-house team on menu updates, specials, and event planning
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas and equipment
Handle any kitchen-related concerns or conflicts with professionalism and efficiency
Qualifications:
Previous experience in a kitchen management or head chef role (2+ years preferred)
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Knowledge of food safety regulations (ServSafe certification preferred)
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
