Position Title: Senior Accountant

Reports To: Accounting Manager

General Purpose:

Performs a wide variety of accounting duties.

Responsibilities:

Prepare reports for management and the Board of Directors

Reconcile general ledger and internal deposit accounts

Prepare accounting entries

Assist with the preparation of the monthly financial statements

Maintain a detailed record of fixed assets

Operate various accounting models

Review accounts payable to ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts

Write reports using report writing software

Perform data analysis

Assist with the preparation of annual budgets

Prepare and assist in the filing of regulatory reports

Assist with the staff training and development

Assist with the development and compliance of policies, procedures and internal controls

Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures

Provide flexibility with work schedule as needed

Other job duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance

Minimum of three years of relevant accounting experience required

Previous financial institution experience preferred

Skills

Strong computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel

Strong attention to detail

Understanding of and the ability to comply with generally accepted accounting principles

Ability to analyze large amounts of information

Strong problem solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Task oriented

Strong organizational skills

Ability to work well in a group and independently

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
