Supply Chain & Manufacturing Application Services - IT Business Consultant
PURPOSE
Sylvamo's IT Enterprise Application Services organization is responsible for designing, building, implementing and sustaining an Enterprise Supply Chain solution. The objective of the solution is to support and enable changing business processes to improve customer satisfaction and reduce supply chain costs. Enterprise Application Services includes Commercial Excellence, Finance & Sourcing, Supply Chain & Manufacturing, HR & EHS, and Application Development.
The Supply Chain and Manufacturing Application Services IT Business Consultant will work in a lean team environment to recommend and deliver technology enabling business processes in SAP covering Supply Chain (Supply Chain Planning and Order to Invoice processes) and our Manufacturing Execution System) along with a number of 3rd party integrations.
The applications in scope include SAP APO, ECC, BW and our MES applications. There are 3rd party applications in scope that will be managed and supported including Loftware, Load Xpert that will require helping manage vendor relations supporting enhancements, projects, deployments, documentation maintenance, integration changes, data extractions, application licenses, and in some cases 1st and 2nd level application support.
The team provides business, operational and technical expertise for IT solutions including design and implementation of Supply Chain and Manufacturing solutions that could consist of in-house and 3rd party applications.
IT point of contact and consults for custom features within vendor products, and acts as a liaison working across IT, the business and with our Managed Service partners.
The candidate should have configuration experience and knowledge of Supply Chain and Manufacturing processes with functional and configuration knowledge of SAP APO DP/S&OP/PPDS, SAP ECC SD/PP/CO/PM and how to integrate with 3rd party applications to support functional and process changes to enable business requirements.
The candidate needs leadership skills to organize, facilitate, and lead design, build and testing activities supporting enhancements and projects as well as to be a point of contact for vendors supporting 3rd party applications.
The candidate will need leadership skills to manage work with our Managed Service Partners.
Key Accountabilities:
Lead and help manage vendor relations supporting enhancements, projects, deployments, documentation maintenance, integration changes, data extractions, application licenses, and in some cases 1st and 2nd level application support
Lead and coordinate project deliverable estimates for integrated and complex development of application solutions/projects working across IT, the business and with our contract/managed services partners
Able to break-down work, explain tasks and understands interdependencies
Lead and facilitate design discussions
Will lead and be responsible for multiple phases of a project and could serve as an IT project manager
Lead and conduct process improvement, functional design and realization for the Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Deliver functional areas applications and system changes
Capable of working independently with little supervision and guidance
Analyze complex user information flows and business requirements to determine alternative procedural and/or systematic solutions to meet business requirements
Understands business data and how to effectively present information using specific software tools
Translates business partner requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization
Performs process and data mapping
Solves difficult problems with effective solutions
Perform SAP (Supply Chain Planning - SAP APO DP/S&OP/PPDS; SAP ECC SD/PP/MM/PM) and MES configuration or familiar with how to determine configuration options
Perform IT acceptance testing of configuration changes and development changes in a highly integrated environment following established methodologies and tools for providing regular reporting on results
Provide support of existing processes in the project and production environments
Meet project deliverable deadlines
Work cohesively with other Information Technology, business and contract resources/groups
Lead and participate in project and team meetings
Participate as needed with go-live and after hours IT project support
Responsible for maintaining support documentation including design documents and functional documentation
Subject matter expert in business applications / systems / specific technology
Takes on medium to large functional/technical assignments
Responsible for leading and participating in process assessments, documenting the solution analysis following the PDP methodology
Organizes IT cross functional teams for highly complex and integrated scope during the realization phase proving continuity between design and realization
Surfaces and escalates issues and risks, providing recommendations and facilitating resolution to issues
Seeks out value added opportunities to improve IT solutions and service capabilities
Conduct knowledge transfer sessions as a functional/technical expert
Able to work independently and is a self-starter

Leverages IT professionals with strong production planning, paper manufacturing, SAP/MES functional knowledge, SAP/MES technical development and project management skills

Develop relationships with our IT partners and Global Supply Chain business organizations collaborating on priorities and design solutions

Understand all corporate policies impacting IT and ensures adherence. Completes all security, legal and regulatory requirements to safeguard the application
Maintains the integration and secures integrity of Supply Chain Operating Model design and enabled benefits

Functional / Technical Skills:
Bachelor's degree in IT or related field preferred
Minimum 10 years business and IT experience
Understanding of the Supply Chain and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) processes and enabling technology
Understanding of waterfall and agile methodologies
Well developed in delivering IT-enabled projects with established project management skills
