Description of Job
Examples of Essential and Important Duties:
Neighborhood nurse on an assigned shift. Ensures compliance with facility policies and procedures by monitoring neighborhood staff, instruction and training staff, and ensuring resident needs are met.
Documents current, accurate and pertinent information, e.g. care and treatment provided to individual residents, indicates specific change in status, medications and physicians orders. Reports abnormality in residents health status indicative of signs, symptoms, vital signs and laboratory reports.
Performs prescribed, specialized treatments and ensures safe and accurate medication administration.
Perform both admission and ongoing assessments during clinical stay, identifying critical incidents, emergencies, acute illnesses, behavior changes and implementing nursing interventions and physician referrals.
Evaluation of daily workload and prioritizing assignments with available staff. Assists in the delegation of duties to provide the most effective coverage to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
This is a temporary, part-time position. Hours are 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. Sunday through Wednesday.

Minimum Qualifications
Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Colorado Board of Nursing or any state participating in the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC)
Conditions of Employment:
Full Background: CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, CAPS (direct contact with adults - Mental Health Institutes, Regional Centers, Veterans Community Living Centers)
Must pass a TB test.
This position is considered "essential service" and you will be required to report without delay or interruption to provide essential or emergency services to ensure health, safety, and welfare.
Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on the application and provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position. Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.
