Our client in the charming city of Visalia, CA is looking for a committed and enthusiastic Traveling Physical Therapist. This is a unique and fulfilling opportunity to provide therapy services to children with chronic orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions in a school-based environment, making a real difference in their lives.

POSITION DETAILS:

Travel Pay : $2,400 per week. (Includes $1,477 in meals/housing stipends).

Location: Visalia, CA

Assignment Length : 26 weeks with possible extension

Schedule: 27 hours per week, 3x9s schedule.

Transportation : Reliable transportation required. You may be required to be at their location in Porterville occasionally.

JOB DUTIES:

Establishes treatment plans with functional goals and measurable objectives based upon evaluations and clinical observations incorporating concepts of family-centered care into the plan. Provides therapy treatment as prescribed by child's physician.

Confers and consults with other providers involved with child's care, including but not limited to school personnel, equipment and orthotic providers, and social service workers

Adapts games, arts, and crafts as therapeutic treatment

Assists parents in understanding and handling children with chronic orthopedic and neuromuscular conditions

Teach parents/caregivers and/or child exercises, activities, and techniques that will improve strength, range of motion, balance, equilibrium, stability, and functional mobility skills.

Maintain relevant and timely documentation of treatments and services provided

REQUIREMENTS:

License to practice as a physical therapist by the Physical Therapy Board of California.

Current BLS certification.

1 year experience working with children is preferred but not required.
