The Senior Turbine Airfoils Manufacturing Field Service Engineer is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise and leadership in the manufacturing and optimization of turbine airfoils. This role involves mentoring junior engineers, driving strategic process improvements, and collaborating with manufacturing teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure high-quality production, adherence to safety standards, and efficient delivery of turbine airfoils. The engineer will also lead troubleshooting efforts, implement complex process improvements, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards. This position requires up to 50% travel to support operations at Madisonville, Greenville, and Auburn sites. The role includes responsibilities for laser weld, laser ablation, creep feed grinding, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide advanced technical support and leadership for turbine airfoil manufacturing processes, including laser weld, laser ablation, creep feed grinding, and EDM
Lead troubleshooting and optimization efforts for laser weld and ablation processes, ensuring precision and reliability in joining and material removal operations
Drive strategic improvements in creep feed grinding and EDM operations to enhance material removal accuracy and surface finish quality
Mentor and train junior engineers and manufacturing personnel on best practices and advanced techniques for laser weld, laser ablation, creep feed grind, and EDM processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex manufacturing challenges and improve process efficiency across all operations
Conduct root cause analysis and lead the implementation of corrective actions for quality or performance issues related to these processes
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) priorities, with safety being the top priority
Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement in these specialized areas
Communicate effectively with customers and suppliers to address technical concerns and ensure satisfaction
Document and report findings, recommendations, and progress to stakeholders, providing strategic insights and solutions
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university
Minimum of 5 years of experience in turbine airfoil manufacturing or a related field
Desired Characteristics:
At least 10 years of experience in turbine airfoil manufacturing or a related field
Experience in manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, coating, and inspection
Experience in troubleshooting complex technical issues and implementing effective solutions
Experience with lean manufacturing principles, including Kaizen, Standard Work, and Hoshin Kanri.
Familiarity with GE Aerospace's FLIGHT DECK operating system
