Medical Assistant - Mohs Surgery- Off On Friday's and Weekends!

Schedule: 36 hours per week with full benefit

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our Mohs Surgery team. This role involves supporting surgical procedures, maintaining surgical instruments, processing pathology specimens, and ensuring compliance with clinic policies and regulatory standards. The position may require cross-training in the Mohs laboratory to assist with tissue processing as needed.

Responsibilities

Prepare exam rooms with proper setup of instruments and efficient clinic flow.

Perform patient intake, including obtaining medical history, reviewing consent forms, obtaining surgical photographs, and addressing pre-procedure concerns.

Provide wound care instructions and educate patients on post-procedure expectations.

Ensure proper documentation of procedures, medications, MIPS, and follow-up instructions in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Schedule pre- and post-operative appointments and assist with patient inquiries.

Confirm patient insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations if required.

Accurately complete patient charting and documentation.

Record required information in compliance logs (pathology, biopsy, laboratory, temperature).

Essential Skills

Experience in medical assisting, particularly in a surgical or dermatology setting.

Proficiency in patient care and electronic health records (EHR).

Knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical assisting best practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

1-2 years of experience in a dermatology or surgical setting preferred.

Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Work Environment

This position offers a schedule of 36 hours per week with full benefits. The working hours are as follows: Monday from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM in West County (one Monday per month in Farmington), Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM in Arnold, and Thursday from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM alternating between West County and Arnold. Fridays are off.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
