Assistant Director of Human Resourcesto support and partner with our newly appointed Director of Human Resources. This key leadership role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the fastest-growing, most livable, and financially sound cities in the United States

About the RoleReporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Assistant Director will help shape and implement the City's strategic HR priorities in alignment with Round Rocks dedication to innovation, service, and excellence. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to departments across the City, providing guidance and leadership on employee relations, talent acquisition, organizational development, HR technology, and compliance.

This is a hands-on leadership position that plays a critical role in driving HR excellence, developing staff, and building a culture of engagement and continuous improvement.

Examples of Duties

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the development and execution of the Citys multi-year HR strategies that align with the Citys operational goals and objectives, including talent acquisition, workforce planning, diversity and inclusion, and employee engagement.

Oversee HR operations and programs in areas such as employee relations, training and development, recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes

Oversee the administration of the Citys performance evaluation program.

Recommend and implement innovative HR solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Supervise and mentor professional, technical, and administrative staff, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.

Partner with departments to align HR solutions with business goals and provide expert counsel on complex employee relations matters.

Provides oversight of the departments operational budget, including monitoring expenditures.

Promotes a positive and productive workplace by developing and implementing employee engagement programs.

Lead or support employee investigations{tabindex="0"}and disciplinary processes, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance with applicable laws and policies.

Leverage HRIS systems and data analytics to improve efficiency and enhance decision-making; experience with Tyler Technologies (Munis) and{tabindex="0"}NeoGov is a plus.

Support Civil Service administration for the Fire Department, including test administration, promotional processes, and compliance with Chapter 143.

Represent the HR Department in internal committees and cross-departmental initiatives.

Serve as Acting Director as needed.
