Information Technology Services - ITSState of Idaho Opportunity Geospatial Information System (GIS) Manager

Summary:

The Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) is a team of dedicated professionals providing core technology and cybersecurity services to agencies statewide, enabling state employees to serve Idaho's citizens. We sincerely hope you will consider being a part of our success!

ITS currently has an opportunity for a Geospatial Information System (GIS) Manager to join our team at our Chinden Office in Boise.

Please note: The successful candidates will be required to pass multiple, comprehensive fingerprint-based background checks specific to the agencies ITS supports.

Example of Duties:

Management:

Manages staff;

Develops and implements policies and procedures;

Motivates and develops team members.

Operations:

Manages the operations of assigned IT areas, including costs, methods, technology, and vendor management;

Analyzes complex and technical problems requiring diagnosis, testing, and judgment of which procedure is most important.

Minimum Qualifications:

Good knowledge of management practices.

Considerable knowledge of current trends in information technology;

Computer hardware and software capabilities and limitations.

Experience supervising the staff and activities of an IT function;

Participating in short-and long-range IT planning including developing and implementing policies and procedures.

MQ Specialties:

Considerable knowledge of digital-data technologies, geographic information systems, and digital image data.

Experience conducting technical training;

Analyzing and explaining complex data and analytics to senior management and external stakeholders;

Developing geographic information system projects.
