Job Description Summary
The Marketing and Promotions Assistant will report to the Assistant AD of Marketing and Digital Strategy, Associate Director of Marketing and the Assistant Director of Marketing. The marketing team is focused on supporting strategic goals related to generating revenue, increasing attendance, and enhancing the Penn Athletics brand. This position will support the marketing department with all marketing, gameday and promotional initiatives for Penn Athletics which will vary by season.
Job Description
Responsibilities
Develop marketing plans for assigned sports, increasing interest and support from students and the Penn community.
Develop and execute an engaging game presentation for assigned sports including, but not limited to script writing, content creation, videoboard and music operation. Serve as the primary on field and on court gameday coordinator for home ticketed events.
Lead the execution of all in-game promotions during football, men's basketball and women's basketball games.
Manage the set up and breakdown of all gameday promotional elements, including fan giveaways, props, signage, Penn Rewards, and more.
Coordinate with special performance and halftime entertainment groups.
Maintain excellent customer service to all who attend Penn Athletics events.
Assist in the planning and execution of on campus promotional initiatives, student engagement and special events.
Collaborate with multiple departments to fulfill and execute gameday promotions and on campus engagement plans.
Collaborate with members of the Penn Band, Cheer team, and other spirit groups.
Manage the daily performance of the fan loyalty program, Penn Rewards.
Assist with videoboard operation and game production for select events.
Assist in the oversight of work studies, student interns, and gameday volunteers.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Prior experience in athletic marketing, game management, or promotions
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work evenings and weekends on a flexible schedule.
Self-motivated individual who takes initiative; outgoing personality with a strong determination to work through difficult challenges preferred.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications preferred.
Experience with game presentation software: ShoFlo, SportsSoundPro, Sound Director, ANC VSoft, Daktronics Show Control preferred.
