Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

As a Warehouse Worker, you will spend 50% of your day operating sit-down forklifts to move goods efficiently and safely around the warehouse. The remaining 50% will involve performing various warehouse duties, ensuring the smooth operation of daily tasks.

Responsibilities

Operate sit-down forklifts to transport materials within the warehouse.

Unload and load trucks both manually and using forklifts, handling items with care to prevent damage.

Prepare freight for shipment by securely packaging items and ensuring proper labeling.

Use shrink-wrap to secure pallets, ensuring stability during transit.

Split cases from pallets, sorting and storing items in designated locations.

Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, ensuring safety and order.

Repackage orders as needed to meet customer specifications and ensure secure transport.

Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE and reporting safety concerns.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in forklift operation, specifically sit-down forklifts.

General labor and material handling experience.

Ability to lift 50+ pounds by hand.

3-5 years of warehouse and forklift experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Administrative skills.

Experience in loading, unloading, picking, inventory, shipping, and receiving.

Strong customer service skills.

Work Environment

Work in a small, family-owned business environment with a team of 3-5 people in the warehouse. The facility is located near Norfolk International Airport and offers TSA-compliant, secure warehousing and office facilities. Employees must follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. The job requires heavy lifting and the ability to operate sit-down forklifts effectively.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Henrico, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
