Dakota County Technical College seeks an adjunct Medical Administrative Assistant/Secretary (Medical Coding Specialist) Instructor to teach a course in our Medical Coding Specialist program (http://www.dctc.edu/academics/programs-majors/health-education/medical-coding-specialist/) . ?Instructor is responsible for all activities related to teaching and learning including, but not limited to, instructional planning, curriculum development, student evaluation and records, student recruitment and retention, student advising and placement, classroom/climate preparation and management, interpersonal relations, promote safety in all aspects of program activities, purchase supplies and equipment, participate in professional development experiences, work as an effective team member of the department, maintenance of professional skills and credentials, and participate on college committees.

Salary Range:
If teaching less than 5 credits (Adjunct): Per credit rate of $775 - $1650.
If teaching 5 or more credits total (Temporary, PT): $44,144.00 - 96,906.00 Annually (Based upon 1.0 FTE of 32 credits per year. Pay will be prorated, based upon credit load).Salary placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2024 - 2025 MSCF Contract (http://www.minnstate.edu/system/working/docs/contracts/mscf-contract.pdf#page=61) , and conducted by the Minnesota State System Office.

Occupational Experience Requirement
Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a medical administrative assistant/secretary.
Recency Requirement
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Preferred Qualification
Higher education teaching experience with a diverse student population
Experience with learning communities or team teaching
Experience in curriculum development
Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery, including on-line instruction
Experience developing and using student-centered, active and experiential learning strategies
Experience integrating cross-cultural and interdisciplinary perspectives in course instruction
Experience assessing student academic achievement of campus-wide and classroom learning outcomes
