Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Develop measure technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve specifications at a massive production scale. Develop and implement cutting-edge quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics. Compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specifications. Work with internal and external groups to ensure that the proper definition of quality expectations and appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product. Coordinate all Quality Engineering functions for a program, serving as a project manager to lead efforts at supplier locations. Establish audit procedures appropriate to the program and supplier to ensure consistency with Apple quality standards. Evaluate and communicate yields of new and existing processes. Drive corrective actions multi-functionally with internal and external team members. Responsible for activities to balance quality with scalable yields. International travel required 25%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,962 - $236,700/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
3 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
Demonstrating engineering, manufacturing, or quality control experience in new product introduction (NPI) development and critical phase gate to ensure scalable yields and to facilitate large volume production
Developing process quality plans and supplier quality audits and driving corrective actions and failure analysis efforts for quality and operation issues impacting the supply chain or production milestones
Mechanical quality and reliability concepts, quality sampling methodologies, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations to manage risks based on specific product needs
Developing and evaluating measurement systems for various materials in different shapes and forms at a high scale
Establishing inspection sampling rates that balance quality risk management and Capex expenditures from over-inspection
Performing project management using tools such as design of experiments (DOE), root cause analysis, and statistical analytical tools to understand complex issues and demonstrate replication of failure modes
Utilizing mechanical enclosures, castings, plastic parts, injection molding, tooling, jigs, fixtures, or high-volume quality manufacturing engineering to understand the impact of kick o? requests and in?uence vendors on best material selection and design of quality tools
Performing Gage R&R (GRR), Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) practices to collaborate with product design on measurement practices and in?uence design decisions
