Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
The Manager, Fleet Operations, is directly responsible for properly and efficiently carrying out the administration, logistics, maintenance and transportation functions of all Telemundo vehicles and lifts, a 100+ unit fleet. The Manager, Fleet Operations is also responsible for implementing and providing direction and execution of NBCU Driver Safety Program and the annual driver record process as well as champions green fleet initiatives with sustainable improvements to lower footprint and emissions produced by operation.
Job Duties:
Leads, supervises, and manages all drivers and fleet team personnel that support the various productions, including hiring and assigning work schedules
Manages insurance policies and the overall maintenance of all the vehicles, registrations and leasing contracts
Responsible for reviewing the assignation of vehicles required for each client and ensuring the cost are properly allocated.
Keeps track of the route logs for all drivers and assignments
Collaborates with each division/department leader and/or Producer to determine transportation requirements based on personnel and production needs daily
Partners with production and finance teams to build budgets for projects
Prepares a breakdown list of transportation requirements
Oversees fleet personnel work assignations and verifies drivers properly check in and out
Responsible for ensuring each driver is trained and properly licensed to operate the @type of vehicle to which they are assigned
Supervises the process of parking, loading and unloading all company vehicles
Ensures all company vehicles are within proper and safe load limits, confirms each unit is operationally safe, fueled and ready for use
Identifies replacement vehicles or workaround solutions if there are non-available
Observes proper and adequate safety and protective procedure(s) for personnel and equipment being loaded and transported under prevailing highway and weather conditions.
Participates in investigating accidents/incidents in which the vehicles are involved.
Evaluates all transportation needs for NBCU Telemundo Enterprises, as well as sustainable solutions and green fleet technologies to lower fleet emissions.
Responsible for the maintenance and repairs of all vehicles.
Maintains familiarity with DOT regulations and remains up to date with legislation, rulings and other developments that affect fleet operations.
Develops total cost fleet safety and benchmark reporting and targets, including physical damage, worker's comp, and liability costs.
Evaluates, recommends and implements strategies on how to streamline, increase productivity and maintain safety in the fleet department operations.
Provides periodic system training and communication updates.
Participates in cross functional safety committee and provides details for objective measurements of the risk assessment portion of the program.
Works under the direct supervision of the VP, Operations & Facilities and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by Manager
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in business administration/management and a minimum of five years of experience in a transportation environment, or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
Minimum of three years of managerial experience, with proven ability to effectively lead and organize a team.
Must be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based applications.
Must be willing to facilitate personnel requirements including late and/or last-minute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
