The Kalamazoo Transportation Service Center (TSC) is seeking to fill multiple positions either as a Transportation Technician 8-E10 OR an Engineering Assistant 6-E8 based on the preferred candidates qualifications; therefore, you will find two job postings running concurrently on this website. This position assists the construction unit in oversight of the construction program to ensure compliance with federal, state and local rules and regulations. Prepares estimates and studies for Transportation Service Center (TSC) programs. Provides administrative and technical assistance/support in controlling the safe and efficient movement of traffic on the highway system. This position is required to possess a valid driver's license to perform field inspections and reviews.
The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate at the entry (6) level through the maximum rate at the experience (E8) level. Based on education and experience, candidates will be reviewed to determine what level they are qualified for.

Comprehensive Soil Erosion and Sedimentation Control (SESC) certification.
Construction Storm Water Operator (CSWO) certification.
1 of 4 industry certifications (aggregate, density, bituminous, or concrete).
