Seeking a Remote Staff Accountant for a Food Retailer in the Stillwater Area!!

Job Description

As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in preparing and reviewing financial statements, analyzing financial reports, and ensuring the accuracy of accounting records. This position offers the opportunity to work with both internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the growth and success of the organization.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements, and various other accounting statements and reports.

Analyze and collect financial reports and records, making recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.

Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.

Assist in evaluating, recommending, maintaining, and monitoring appropriate internal controls.

Help maintain internal control documentation.

Interact with internal and external stakeholders in responding to inquiries or report requests.

Conduct special studies and develop or recommend accounting methods and procedures.

Instruct or assign work to staff and external vendor partners.

Coordinate accounting matters with other departments and locations.

Utilize computer systems to input, retrieve, or display accounting information.

Reconcile and review assigned accounts.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheets, and month-end processes.

2+ years of experience at the Staff Level in Accounting.

2+ years of experience with large ERP systems.

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in a large company, with public company experience preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to be a self-starter and take initiative.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively when encountering challenges.

Work Environment

This position is 100% remote, with the requirement that candidates are local to Minnesota. The office is located in Stillwater, MN, and employees are welcome to work from the office if they prefer. The initial onboarding will take place in the office on the first day. The team values flexibility and independence, allowing for significant growth opportunities within the organization.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $37.00/hr.
