Job Description:
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) has a requirement for technical and engineering support in the systems engineering, integration, maintenance, documentation, and development and operation of training simulations. SimIS seeks a Senior Operator to provide expert-level operational support for Advanced Anti-Air Warfare Tactical Trainer (AATT) and Combined Integrated Air and Missile Defense/Anti-Submarine Warfare Trainer (CIAT) systems. This position requires extensive experience in naval combat systems operations and the ability to execute complex training scenarios while maintaining high levels of realism and training effectiveness.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
Minimum 6-8 years of experience in naval combat systems operations
Extensive experience with AEGIS combat systems, preferably shipboard watch standing experience
Advanced knowledge of anti-air warfare (AAW) and integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) operations
Travel required: 25%
Technical Skills :
Preferred: Former Navy with FC, OS, or similar combat systems rating
Experience as Combat Systems Officer of the Watch (CSOOW) or similar supervisory role
Knowledge of naval doctrine, tactics, and procedures
Strong leadership and training abilities
Excellent situational awareness and decision-making skills
Ability to role-play various operational scenarios effectively
Strong communication skills for scenario coordination and debriefing
Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interface with government and contractor organizations at senior levels
Key Responsibilities
Execute complex AATT and CIAT training scenarios with high fidelity and realism
Assume various operational roles during scenarios (CSOOW, watch standers, aircraft crews, etc.)
Coordinate and control multi-platform simulation exercises
Manipulate environmental and tactical parameters to enhance training realism
Provide expert guidance on tactical procedures and combat systems operations
Conduct scenario verification and validation activities
Mentor junior operators and provide operational training
Support post-event analysis and debriefing activities
Maintain proficiency in latest tactical doctrine and combat systems capabilities
Ensure proper scenario documentation and reporting procedures
