The Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting the AP Team Lead, Senior Accountants and Accounting Manager in overseeing and managing various accounting functions of the Company, including but not limited to Accounts Payable, Property Accounting, and Capital Accounting.
You will assist in supporting analytical functions of AP, the operations and financial responsibilities of the portfolio by providing various financial reports, accruals, and reconciliations. You will be required to be in the office 4 days a week. You will work closely with the AP Lead, other Senior Accountants and Accounting Manager and other stakeholders to implement new processes for optimal month end close.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly journal entries to accurately record, accrue legal expenses for the entire Company.
Reconcile various G/L accounts monthly to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Assist the Manager in improving workbooks with an emphasis on automation.
Assist in the preparation of regular reports on property level analysis and accounts payable activity such as aging reports, and other metrics for senior management.
Support the internal and external audit process, providing documentation and information as requested by auditors.
Assist Property and Capital Accounting during close as needed to record entries and perform monthly reconciliations.
Assist in ad hoc tasks and projects assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
1-3 years of minimum experience required
Proficient in using complex Excel formulas.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
