The DON enhances professional practice and the provision of quality patient care by providing evidence-based, quality educational programs and activities that promote professional competency for nursing, inter-professional, and non-licensed clinical staff within the market. The Director ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall function and staffing of practices in addition to forecasting, planning, and budget monitoring. The Director fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of clinical practice objectives Supporting HCA Healthcare's 186 hospitals and 2,400+ sites of care, Physician Services plays a crucial role as the main entry point for patients looking for high-quality healthcare within the HCA Healthcare system. Major Responsibilities:
Cultivates a superior clinical identity by identifying and implementing evidence-based practices regarding clinical care to advance patient safety and quality outcomes, in collaboration with the CMO, Quality, and practice leadership. Ensures adherence to standards of care.
Manages variation in clinical practice to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost. Ensures a culture of accountability and transparency in the provision of care.
Evaluates and ensures efficient patient throughput and delivery of high quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with clinical staff supervisor teams, quality and practice leadership, through practice volume forecasting and clinic/patient flow coordination.
Builds collaborative relationships with providers, management and staff to achieve engagement and alignment with initiatives and protocols for an effective practice and quality care within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
Creates and executes strategic and tactical plans related to nursing to advance College Park's business objectives and actively participates in the business planning process.
Participates as needed in the hiring process, oversees training, provides recognition and praise, disciplines, and supervises assigned staff, including the timely completion of performance evaluations. Completes all administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner (i.e. time corrections, PTO requests, status changes, etc.).
Ensures compliance with state, federal and regulatory agency requirements for facilities, clinical care and staff.
Leads and coordinates annual core competency training for clinical staff in the market. This includes, but is not limited to, RN's, LPN's, MA's, and other direct clinical care providers
Coordinates a minimum of two continuing education development opportunities for preceptors and clinical supervisory leaders in market
Participates, as requested, in PHY division based new colleague orientation and new colleague listening sessions to identify opportunities for improvement in onboarding and orientation of clinical colleagues
Oversees preceptor program in collaboration with quality and human resources to ensure adequate and clinically competent preceptors for onboarding new colleagues and/or remediation training of tenured or new colleagues.
Serves on practice, market, or division committees as assigned or requested by practice or division leadership
Rounds on staff; promotes professional open communication with providers, staff, patients and others; fosters a culture of accountability and displays strong support for the organization, leadership, staff, and patients.
Works with CMO and Medical director to ensure implementation of consistent policies for the back-office staff and providers.

Education & Experience:
Associate's degree
Bachelor's Degree
Three + years' applicable experience in healthcare leadership
Five + years' applicable clinical work experience

Occasional Travel: The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis.
