Software Engineer
Focus on Application Maintenance, Integration & Systems Enhancement
Job Description
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of applications and their related interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with new software applications. You will perform in-depth analyses to develop programs and testing plans from functional specifications, as well as writing and testing necessary programs. Your role will also include maintaining implemented computer systems and developing documentation for programs and computer operators as needed. Additionally, you will plan, design, and install new systems or modify existing ones, perform systems and software analyses, and lead projects to enhance overall company performance.
Responsibilities
Maintain applications and related interfaces with new software applications.
Perform necessary analysis to develop programs and testing plans from functional specifications.
Write and test required programs.
Develop documentation for programs and computer operators as needed.
Develop, enhance, and maintain applications used within supported systems.
Plan, design, and install new systems or modify existing systems.
Perform systems and software analyses, development, implementation, and administration based on consultation with system users.
Develop functional specifications and test plans, as well as system design.
Test and debug programs to ensure that specifications are met.
Train system users on major changes made to the application.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems for supported applications.
Lead projects.
Skills & Qualifications
Ideally 3+ years of systems engineering experience (individuals with all levels of relevant experience encouraged to apply).
Proficiency in C# or C++ development and testing.
Experience with VB.NET.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience in software implementation and integration.
Strong skills in systems engineering and software testing.
Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility with an open desk environment alongside other engineering teams. You will be working on-site five days a week, primarily supporting the Scottsville plant with backing from the corporate office.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
