Staff Accountant - Full-Time, On-Site

The Staff Accountant reports directly to the Director of Finance and plays a key role in supporting all hotel accounting functions, including accounts payable, general cashiering, income audit, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

· Perform accounts payable functions, including processing invoices and reconciling vendor statements.

· Manage general cashier duties: issue, audit, and maintain hotel banks, prepare bank deposits, due backs, and petty cash, and resolve cash discrepancies.

· Ensure house banks are properly documented, approved, and maintained.

· Support income audit, payroll functions, and assist with inventory spot checks.

· Contribute to monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and analytical reviews of significant account balances.

· Assist in preparation of period-end closing procedures and reports.

· Prepare quarterly external reporting schedules and support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance through documentation and control testing.

· Handle inquiries from guests, clients, vendors, and external auditors.

· Collaborate on special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

· 1-2 years of accounting experience, hotel or public accounting preferred.

· Strong knowledge of general ledger, accounts payable, and cashiering processes.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word); experience with financial ERP systems (Oracle preferred).

· Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

· Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods.

· Capability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
