We are looking for a skilled Legal Secretary to support attorneys in a dynamic and fast-paced legal environment. This Contract-to-permanent position is located in Houston, Texas, and offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with experience in commercial litigation and insurance defense. The ideal candidate will excel in administrative tasks, legal document preparation, and court filing procedures.

Responsibilities:

Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and agreements with precision and attention to detail.

Conduct e-filing for federal, state, and local courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.

Support discovery processes, including document collection, deposition preparation, and creation of privilege logs.

Organize trial materials such as notebooks, calendars, indexes, and chronologies to assist attorneys during trials.

Coordinate and schedule client meetings, depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings, both virtually and in person.

Arrange travel accommodations for attorneys and legal staff as required.

Collaborate with firm leadership and staff to ensure seamless operational support.

Manage legal records using electronic databases like iManage and ShareFile, maintaining confidentiality and proper organization.

Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for drafting, communication, and research tasks.

Stay informed about court procedures and deadlines, ensuring compliance and timely responses.

Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience as a legal secretary, with expertise in commercial litigation defense.

Familiarity with insurance defense litigation is highly preferred.

Proficiency in legal software platforms and electronic filing systems, including iManage and ShareFile.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with excellent grammar and attention to detail.

Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Self-motivated and collaborative team player with a detail-oriented approach.
