Description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role is based in Stockton, California, and offers the opportunity to work in the dynamic transportation industry. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting and financial operations, with expertise in reconciliations, general ledger management, and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities:

Perform detailed account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Reconcile balance sheets and bank accounts to maintain financial integrity.

Manage and update the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and timely.

Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end and year-end closing activities.

Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Sage, or SAP to streamline financial processes.

Collaborate with internal teams to address discrepancies and ensure proper documentation.

Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and reports are accurate.

Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.

Assist in the preparation of financial statements and other reporting requirements.

Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the transportation/distribution industry.

Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entry preparation.

Hands-on experience with month-end close processes and financial reporting.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis.

Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Sage, or SAP.

Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
