Medical Receptionist

Description We are looking for a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Norwalk, Connecticut. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring smooth operations at the medical front office and providing exceptional service to patients. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

Greet patients warmly and assist with the check-in process to ensure a positive experience.

Manage appointment scheduling, including coordinating with patients and healthcare providers to optimize workflow.

Handle incoming phone calls, address inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate department.

Maintain accurate patient records and ensure timely updates in the system.

Process insurance information and verify coverage details as needed.

Perform administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry to support the team.

Ensure the waiting area is clean, organized, and welcoming for patients.

Communicate effectively with medical staff to facilitate efficient patient care.

Adhere to confidentiality standards and HIPAA regulations at all times. Requirements - Previous experience in medical front office or receptionist roles is required.

Proficiency in patient scheduling and familiarity with healthcare appointment systems.

Strong understanding of basic medical terminology.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of insurance verification processes is preferred.

Proficiency in using office equipment and computer systems.
