Position Summary: Responsible for acquiring real estate for Transportation/Public Works projects.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Conduct very complex title research
Prepare complex land acquisition forms
Establish current market value of subject land including appraisal work
Conduct very complex negotiations with landowners to secure properties through purchase, donation, or condemnation
Assist in the preparation of complex bid proposals, project estimates, purchase orders, specifications, and drafts contract documents for projects
Complete very complex relocation assistance work as required in accordance with the Uniform Relocation Assistance and Real Property Acquisition Policies Act of 1970, As amended (Uniform Act)
Serve as Project Manager on complex right of way projects
Perform last contacts and administrative reviews for settlement purposes
Assist Section Head with marketing the right of way program
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

Required SkillsRequired Experience
Real Estate Salesperson License
High school diploma or equivalent
10+ years of related experience
Preferred Experience
Certified General Real Property Appraiser License
Ga Brokerage License
Land use and acquisition courses
The ability to negotiate very complex transactions
Very Complex problem Solving
Ability to testify in court and hearings
Maintain poise under stressful situations.
Real estate experience, familiarity with titles, real estate documents, and legal descriptions
Land use and acquisition courses particularly courses offered by the International Right of Way Association
Senior Right of Way (SR/WA) designation from the International Right of Way Association
Real estate experience, familiarity with titles, real estate documents, and legal descriptions
Bachelor's Degree or some college course work including real estate classes
Working Conditions
Some work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
Significant field work (50% or more) is required where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs.) may be required as needed.
