The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a CMDB Data Configuration Manager in support of the Enterprise Information Technology as a Service (EITaaS) contract with the Department of the Air Force. The EITaaS program supports our customer to provide a common set of required EIT services across 187 bases to implement a consistent, high-quality experience for users across all mission environments and enable USAF to transition focus from network operations to mission operations. CACI is leading the way in transforming IT services from an in-house, base-centric delivery model to an advanced enterprise service delivery model.
The CMDB Data Configuration Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role is critical for maintaining a reliable source of truth for IT assets and their relationships, supporting effective IT service management processes, and enabling informed decision-making. The CMDB Data Configuration Manager will work closely with various IT teams, including infrastructure, applications, security, and service desk, to establish and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards.
Responsibilities:
CMDB Data Governance:
Develop, implement, and maintain CMDB data standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality and consistency.
Define and manage Configuration Item (CI) @types, attributes, and relationships within the CMDB.
Establish and enforce data ownership and accountability for specific CI @types.
Monitor CMDB data quality and identify areas for improvement.
Implement and manage data reconciliation processes to resolve discrepancies.
?CMDB Data Management:
Oversee the population, maintenance, and ongoing updates of the CMDB.
Collaborate with IT teams to ensure accurate and timely CI data entry.
Develop and implement automated data discovery and integration processes.
Manage the CMDB data model and ensure it aligns with business and IT requirements.
Perform regular data audits and cleansing activities to maintain data integrity.
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements to CMDB processes and workflows.
Develop and maintain CMDB documentation, including data dictionaries, process flows, and training materials.
Work with IT teams to integrate CMDB data with other IT service management (ITSM) processes, such as incident management, problem management, change management, and service request management.
Contribute to the development and implementation of IT service management best practices.
Reporting and Analysis:
Develop and maintain CMDB reports and dashboards to track data quality, completeness, and usage.
Analyze CMDB data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
Provide insights and recommendations to IT leadership based on CMDB data analysis.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with IT teams to understand their CMDB data needs and requirements.
Communicate CMDB updates, changes, and best practices to stakeholders.
Provide training and support to IT teams on CMDB usage and data entry procedures.
Participate in IT service management meetings and contribute to the overall improvement of IT service delivery.
Qualifications:
Required:
Ability to obtain/maintain Secret clearance
12+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor's Degree in relevant field may be substituted for 5 years of relevant experience).
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT service management, with a focus on configuration management and CMDB administration.
Proven experience with CMDB tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC Helix, Micro Focus Universal CMDB). The program uses ServiceNow.
Experience with data governance principles and practices.
Experience with data modeling and database design.
Experience with IT automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage, databases).
Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, such as ITIL.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
Familiarity with cloud computing technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Program uses Azure.
Understanding of API integrations and data exchange formats (e.g., JSON, XML).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
Strong documentation skills.
Desired:
DoD Secret Clearance.
ITIL Foundation certification. (Preferred)
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (or equivalent certification for other CMDB tools). (Preferred)
Data governance or data management certifications. (Preferred)

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.
The proposed salary range for this position is:
$73,800-$155,100
