Job Purpose or Objective(s): You will perform routine social service and law enforcement responsibilities including assessments of criminogenic need, treatment referral, and ongoing monitoring of Choctaw Nation offender behavior, while increasing public safety through the reduction of future criminal behavior. You will report to the Probations Departmental Manager.
Payrate: $25.69 per hour | Hourly, Full Time | Schedule and Hours: 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday with Saturday and Sunday OFF | Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. | WEEKLY EARNED WAGE ACCESS IS AN OPTION FOR THIS POSITION |
Primary Tasks:
You will manage a caseload of adult and juvenile offenders by employing motivational interviewing skills to complete scientific assessments of criminogenic risk/needs.
You will prepare reports concerning activities of offenders and provide recommendations for using the Choctaw Nation Sentencing Judges and District Attorney.
Maintain documentation, physical and electronic, relating to management of offender caseload.
Monitor payment of financial obligations for offenders ordered by the Choctaw Nation Judicial Court.
Conduct employment, field and home contacts with offenders.
Conduct periodic screening for drug and alcohol use by offenders.
Arrest and transport of offenders.
Locate offenders who have absconded from the Choctaw Nation Judicial Court.
Make contact with offenders who are arrested for Tribal offenses as directed by the Choctaw Nation Sentencing Judges and District Attorney.
Collaborate with other Law Enforcement Departments to provide comprehensive services to the citizens of the Choctaw Nation through the Judicial Branch.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in corrections, sociology, social work, criminology, psychology or closely related field
Knowledge of the criminal justice system, courts, and probation-related theories, principles, laws, case law, and operations
Obtain CLEET Certification within one year of employment
Obtain a peace officer certification within one year of employment
Qualify yearly with department firearms
Ability to make critical decisions to meet the Department's mission
Proficient in operating a computer, using Microsoft Office products, and Tribal Court Case Management System
