Salary Range: $68,000 - $74,000
The University of St. Thomas has provided a salary range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The specific salary offered will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.
JOB SUMMARY
This position reports to the Senior Director, Finance & Operations, OCB and is expected to apply the principles of accounting to
record and reconcile financial information, carry out financial transactions, prepare statements and reports, analyze operating and restricted funds status, oversee the reporting of graduate enrollment forecasting and budgeting, and prepare financial reports for Executive Education. This position works closely with departments and centers within OCB, the Controller's Office, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, the Business Office, and the Graduate Financial Aid Office to ensure proper accounting and reconciliation are accomplished related to the essential functions below.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manage financial reporting, reconciliations, and daily financial tasks for the Opus College of Business. Process faculty adjunct contracts, miscellaneous payments, and faculty/instructor payments for Executive Education.
Under the direction of the Senior Director, Finance & Operations, OCB, prepares the OCB annual financial plan by compiling the revenue, compensation, and non-compensation requests from department heads, Program Directors, Center Directors, Assistant Deans, and Associate Deans. Submits annual financial plan through Anaplan.
Track weekly enrollment forecast for OCB graduate programs in fall and spring terms by communicating with Program Directors to obtain application, student headcount, and credit statistics and comparing it to UST preliminary enrollment reports to identify possible enrollment issues and the impact to budget and OCB contribution margin.
Provide Executive Education with the daily/weekly balancing report and audit of Banner and Flatbridge software systems, accounts receivable reconciliation report in coordination with Executive Education registrar, and preparation of the monthly performance report.
Respond to requests for assistance and financial reports regarding operating and restricted fund budgets and financial transactions. Educate departments on proper accounting and payment policies and procedures. Regularly monitor the balances of restricted funds.
Execute financial transactions such as journal vouchers, budget transfers, and purchase requisitions through Banner Finance and eBuy & Pay in addition to working with appropriate individual(s) across the organization to resolve issues and obtain required approvals.
Regularly works in cooperation with the UST Controller's office, Procurement Services, and the Business office on financial and accounting matters. Keeping up to date with policies and procedures. Educate departments on proper accounting and payment policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
Two years of professional experience in accounting or finance
An equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired may be substituted.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA/MBA
