Description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Chuluota, Florida. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers the opportunity to work within the construction industry, focusing on full-cycle accounting and audit preparation. The role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and project budget alignment.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and manage project budgets, expenses, and job costs to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.

Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports tailored to construction operations.

Maintain and oversee accurate records for accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring timely billing and payment processing.

Perform routine reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledgers related to construction activities.

Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and reporting standards.

Administer payroll processes for construction employees and subcontractors, ensuring accuracy and adherence to guidelines.

Utilize construction-specific accounting tools to streamline processes and improve forecasting.

Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and other stakeholders to align financial reporting with project requirements.

Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance.

Conduct detailed cost allocation and reporting for construction projects.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in a construction field is required.

Experience with journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial audits.

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Proficiency in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger management.

Familiarity with construction accounting systems such as Sage 300 or Procore a plus (familiarity with StarBuilder a major plus, but not required)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Knowledge of construction cost allocation methods and compliance reporting standards.
