Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled and proactive Senior Accountant to join our team in Miami Gardens, Florida. This is a Contract-to-permanent position, offering an excellent opportunity to showcase your expertise in accounting processes and systems. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in improving workflows, enhancing documentation, and supporting our month-end close procedures.

Responsibilities:

Oversee account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.

Perform detailed balance sheet and bank reconciliations to maintain financial records.

Manage general ledger activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries.

Lead month-end close processes, including creating calendars and improving checklists.

Identify system inefficiencies and implement changes to automate accounting tasks.

Collaborate with the Controller to document and refine accounting policies and procedures.

Utilize tools such as Microsoft Excel, NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP to analyze and manage data.

Provide insights and recommendations for optimizing accounting operations.

Support the organization's financial goals by maintaining a positive and solution-oriented approach.

Ensure adherence to non-profit accounting standards, if applicable. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proven experience in account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations.

Proficiency in general ledger management and journal entry preparation.

Strong familiarity with month-end close procedures and process improvement.

Hands-on experience with accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and advanced Microsoft Excel.

Ability to adapt to manual processes and transition to automated systems.

Previous experience in the non-profit sector is preferred but not required.

Positive attitude, initiative, and excellent communication skills for collaborative teamwork.
