Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Louisville, Kentucky. This Contract-to-permanent position involves maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of financial principles and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain financial records, including tracking assets, liabilities, and overall financial performance.

Create and analyze monthly reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.

Manage the general ledger, including coding invoices, reconciling accounts, and closing monthly books.

Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.

Reconcile various accounts, including payroll, cash disbursements, and customer accounts.

Assist external auditors by providing necessary documentation and financial data during annual audits.

Collaborate with software vendors to maintain and improve accounting systems.

Supervise the purchasing and invoicing system to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Stay current with accepted accounting practices and procedures to ensure compliance.

Handle additional projects and assignments as needed to support the accounting team. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

Strong knowledge of general financial and cost accounting principles.

Familiarity with hospitality accounting and Yardi software is preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and other accounting software.

Ability to prepare accurate tax reports and adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members and external parties.
