Job Summary
The Lead Financial Analyst Works collaboratively with operations and business development leadership on capture strategy, execution, and business decisions, along with project controls and estimating functional requirements. The position is hybrid and can sit in either our Chantilly, VA or Columbus, OH offices.
Responsibilities
Performs as Subject Matter Expert for all contract sizes and @types. As a member of the Business Unit Finance leadership, works collaboratively to build, lead and develop the financial services team. Assigns and directs activities of junior staff in partnership with management to develop staff professionally; identifies gaps in business acumen with project staff and works collectively with Financial Leadership and the Project Management Organization (PMO) to train and develop technical staff; improve technical knowledge and skills by attending/completing continuing education and training programs.
Provides project control and estimating functional requirements for cost analysis and estimates for new business opportunities and project lifecycle financial management; may lead large and complex cost proposal efforts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on pricing strategy and cost volume structure. Develops and maintains the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) budget and resource-loaded integrated master schedules. Supports PM with contract and/or project performance management, project reporting and/or fulfilling invoicing requirements. Implement systems for planning, tracking, analyzing, and reporting contractual / project requirements on projects of intermediate to moderately high risk and complexity. Responsible for leading Battelle's Earned Value Management (EVM) initiatives, as well as providing training on EVM for the organization.
Assigns and directs activities of junior staff in partnership with management to develop staff professionally and identifies gaps in Business Acumen with project staff and works collectively with Financial Leadership and the Project Management Organization to train and develop technical staff; train and mentor junior staff; and participates in cross-functional initiatives and other special projects.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance; 12 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field.
Must have a background which would not preclude a security clearance granted.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree.
