The City of De Pere is looking to immediately hire Firefighter/Paramedics to fill three current vacancies as well as establish an eligibility list to fill future vacancies. Applicants will be notified when vacancies occur, and applications are processed. 2025 Firefighter Salary Schedule Base Salary Paramedic Salary (additional 4.75% of top base pay) Start \$65,243 \$69,305 1 Year \$69,294 \$73,356 2 Years \$73,354 \$77,416 3 Years \$77,410 \$81,472 4 Years \$81,465 \$85,527 5 Years- Top Salary \$85,522 \$89,584 Current Firefighters The City of De Pere offers an elevated entry-level salary through a lateral transfer program specifically designed for Firefighters with an equivalent amount of experience from another full-time, career municipal fire and/or EMS department. Recruitment Process Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis throughout the year. The basic recruitment process will consist of an in-person or virtual interview with the Fire Rescue Department. The Police and Fire Commission will establish an eligibility list. Candidates placed on the eligibility list may be invited for a physical abilities test. Our Firefighters work closely with the community to provide education through open houses, school fire safety education, elder care fire safety, station tours, and more! De Pere Fire Rescue has two fire stations, one on each side of the Fox River. DPFR protects a population of more than 25,000 in an area covering roughly 12 square miles. In addition, we cover an area of the Town of Ledgeview, the Town of Lawrence and an area of Ashwaubenon for Emergency Medical Rescue. Combined they cover over 25 square miles with an additional population of over10,000 people. Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate\'s degree in any field preferred. Minimum Experience: A combination of education and experience may be considered. Minimum Certifications: Firefighter I and Firefighter II Certifications Driver/Operator - Pumper Certification National Registry or State of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic Certification Other Requirements: Residency within a 30-mile radius from the center of the Claude Allouez Bridge within 12 months of hire.
