Job Summary and Qualifications
You are assigned the task of safely delivering all clean linen to the hospitals and picking up the soiled linen. You are responsible for ensuring the trucks are taken to Penske for their scheduled preventive maintenance.
What you will do in this role:
Safely delivering all clean linen to the hospitals, surgery centers and emergency rooms.
Safely picking up all soiled linen and returning it to the laundry for processing.
Act as a Liaison/Customer Service Representative for the laundry.
Ensuring the trucks are properly maintained.
Ensuring the trucks are taken in for scheduled preventive maintenance.
Ensuring the soiled linen is weighed and logged.
Other duties assigned.
Responsibilities:
Follow the schedule and clock in and out using your badge. Write your time in and out in the Supervisor's Log Book.
Inspect your truck in accordance with the provided Inspection /Delivery Report.
Sanitize the truck prior to starting your route.
Ensure you have enough straps to complete your deliveries and pickups in a safe manner.
Inform the supervisor on duty that you are ready to proceed with the deliveries. If there is a problem with the truck, inform the supervisor on duty that you are taking it in for service and give him/her you expected time of return.
Deliver the hospitals, surgery centers and emergency rooms in accordance with the daily schedule, unless otherwise directed by a supervisor.
Ensure you take enough empty carts to each facility. Use your best judgment on how many carts are necessary.
Pick up all soiled linen at each facility. Make a return trip if necessary.
Calibrate the scale each time you are going to use it. Weigh and log each facility's soiled weight and place it in the appropriate area.
Ensure you top off the truck at the end of your shift.
Upon completion of your daily runs, ensure you complete the Inspection/Delivery Report and place it in the appropriate area.
Ensure you clean and sanitize the truck at the end of your shift. Do not leave any personal items inside
Take each truck in twice a month to have the exterior washed.
Ensure the truck is taken in for preventive maintenance.
What qualifications you will need:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Texas driver's license.
