Job Summary
An Assembly Shift Lead is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the shift covering the assembly department. Exhibits good environmental practices and procedures consistent with job(s) performed and EMS (Environmental Management System) requirements. Time on Production Floor-knows processes and equipment. Monitors performance and achieves objectives related to safety, quality, environmental efficacy, timelines and cost effectiveness of work within the shift. Provides leadership, direction, and scheduling to members of shift and able to escalate timely to management. Ensures employees meet standards for production and safety daily. Manages and utilizes all available resources to achieve production and productivity goals. Understands and consistently enforces company policies and practices. Identifies opportunities for training and development of employees. Drives continuous improvement and document changes as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Train Level 1, 2, 3, and IV Assemblers
Ability to Troubleshoot assembly issues and train others on troubleshooting techniques
Responsible for owning daily schedule attainment activities and communicating misses/issues to Management
Assembled assigned jobs based on schedule adherence guidelines.
Read product prints and specifications prior to starting assembly process.
Fill out all paperwork documenting steps performed, quantities, and quality checks performed.
Perform destructive testing on completed assemblies.
Responsible for owning daily schedule attainment activities and communicating misses/issues to Management.
Collect components for assembly ensuring lot number traceability.
Clean components and assemblies with alcohol (IPA).
Package assemblies in plastic bags and heat seal.
Participate in continuous improvement activities.
Lead 1 Continuous Improvement project annually.
Generate and Present One Point Lessons.
Assist in CAPA/Quality related projects and investigations.
Perform other related tasks, including but not limited to, performing housekeeping tasks required to keep work areas clean and organized.
Observe all safety rules and regulations including the wearing of protective equipment when required. Report any accidents and unsafe conditions to management.
Able to locate and use workmanship standards and tappi charts.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred. Efficient and willingness to perform required work with good attendance and attitude. Understand SOP's relating to the department activities. Good analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills. Must be a team player. Effective communication skills essential - both written and verbal
1-2 years of manufacturing supervision experience is preferred.-
Must be able to properly fill out time reporting and work order documentation. Operational knowledge of Assembly is preferred.
?PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires walking, primarily on a level surface throughout the day. May need to climb stairs/steps periodically. May need to stoop or kneel and reach above shoulder heights, below the waist. Lifting as required with proper lifting techniques up to 50 pounds on occasion.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is in a clean room environment where the use of personal protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety glasses, and safety shoes are mandated. Noise levels and temperatures may vary due to areas accessed. There is some exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals such as alcohol.
