Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician with strong electronic troubleshooting abilities down to the component level and hands-on experience with PLC programming and diagnostics. This role also requires working knowledge of mechanical systems to support a wide variety of industrial equipment. Youll be responsible for maintaining and repairing manual and automated systems to minimize downtime, support production efficiency, and improve equipment reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical and electronic systems, including sensors, relays, power supplies, HMIs, VFDs, and motor controls.

Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs (primarily Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Keyence or other relevant platforms).

Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, function block and technical documentation.

Perform root cause analysis on electrical failures and implement corrective actions.

Support, install, and maintain industrial automation systems, including conveyors, saws, press systems, and other manufacturing equipment.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues related to gearboxes, bearings, chain drives, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.

Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Ensure all work complies with safety and electrical code standards.

Collaborate with engineering, operations, and other maintenance staff on continuous improvement projects.

Skills and Requirements

o High school diploma or equivalent (technical school or trade certification preferred)

o 7+ years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment

o (3+ years)Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent)

o Ability to troubleshoot down to the component level (resistors, transistors, fuses, etc.)

o Familiarity with VFDs, motor controls, and industrial automation

o Working knowledge of mechanical systems and repair practices

o Strong reading skills for schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals o Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field

o Experience with SCADA, HMI development, or industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.)

o Knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety procedures

o Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools null
