Job Description

As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and accuracy of our procurement processes. You will update, verify, and complete purchase requisitions, obtain vendor quotes, and resolve any discrepancies in invoices and shipping. Collaborating closely with our accounting and shipping departments, you will ensure smooth operations and maintain system costs in P21.

Responsibilities

Update, verify, change, and complete purchase requisitions by comparing requested items to actual demand, minimum requirements, and usage trends.

Obtain quotes from vendors and suppliers.

Resolve invoice and shipping discrepancies with vendors.

Collaborate with accounting and shipping departments to resolve issues.

Complete and manage assigned reports such as Cost Change, Unacknowledged, Open PO, and Stock Analysis on a weekly or daily basis.

Assist in maintaining system costs in P21.

Essential Skills

Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry skills.

Basic math and reading skills.

Proficient use of proper English grammar, both written and verbal.

Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Excel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

6+ months of purchasing experience preferred.

Experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment is desirable.

Demonstrated teamwork, productivity, accuracy, and professionalism.

Ability and eagerness to quickly learn new processes and systems.

Work Environment

The role is set in a dynamic environment that requires collaboration with various departments. You will utilize modern software tools like Microsoft Excel and P21 to ensure effective purchasing operations. The work atmosphere encourages teamwork, accuracy, and professional growth, offering an opportunity to learn and adapt in a distribution or manufacturing setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.

Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
