HOW A SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Lead and mentor a team of software developers
Oversee day-to-day operations, including task assignment, managing backlog of efforts and prioritizing implementation, performance management, and professional development
Manages the design and development of software development for new and existing computer systems
Creates basic documentation in work changes, revisions, or problems
Walk customers or training personnel through recommended problem-solving steps in use of the application
Attends and presents at customer and executive-level meetings
Manage Task Order(s) ensuring all software development tasks are complete meet schedule, and performance requirements
Direct project assignment, lead software projects from planning through execution and deployment
Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved within scope and budget
Develop and maintain comprehensive software documentation, operational procedures, and policies
Other duties as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education:
Bachelor's degree (in computer science, engineering or mathematics)
Required Experience:
5+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills:
Experience in Agile and Cloud software development management
Security Clearance Level:
Must be clearable for a position of Public Trust and standard background investigation check
Required Skills and Abilities:
Software system leadership roles that have an average value of $100M or greater
Solid technical background in software development
Experience in Agile and Cloud software development management
Strong communication skills; demonstrated ability to communicate appropriately and to raise issues to teams and senior management
Ability to thrive in situations of complexity and ambiguity while functioning at a high level of productivity in a fast paced and dynamic environment
Demonstrates ability to work independently
Demonstrated strength in solving complex problems
Preferred Experience, Skills, and/or Certifications:
FAA National Airspace System (NAS) experience
FAA Cloud Services
Agile certification (PMI-ACP or SAFe certification)?

The likely salary range for this position is $129,311 - $174,951. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
