The Paralegal is an advanced-level role for an experienced legal professional with deep subject matter expertise in a specialized area such as corporate governance, employment law, or another legal domain. This position provides high-level paralegal support across complex matters, working closely with attorneys and internal departments. The ideal candidate demonstrates autonomy, legal judgment, and the ability to navigate nuanced legal topics with minimal guidance.

Key ResponsibilitiesSpecialty Area Support (60%)

Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts (e.g., Consulting Services, SaaS, Licensing, and NDAs)

Ensure contracts are internally consistent and aligned with legal, regulatory, and risk standards

Manage and coordinate responses to document requests from auditors, regulators, enforcement agencies, and litigants

Assist with litigation and enforcement proceedings, including discovery, legal holds, document production, internal investigations, and witness preparation

Prepare and submit timely legal filings as applicable to area of expertise

Collaborate with Risk Management and contribute to corporate policy development and governance initiatives

Maintain legal templates, forms, and internal compliance materials

Legal Research & Analysis (25%)

Conduct complex legal research in both core specialty and adjacent areas (e.g., healthcare, labor & employment, IP, campaign finance, procurement, Medicaid/Medicare)

Analyze legislation, regulations, and legal trends; contribute to legislative implementation projects

Summarize legal findings in written form for internal counsel and clients

General Legal Support (15%)

Support litigation activities: draft correspondence, organize case files, prepare discovery responses

Interface with courts, agencies, and outside counsel as required

Assist with data presentation and legal documentation through spreadsheets, charts, and visual aids

Gather facts and supporting information for legal matters under attorney guidance

QualificationsEducation & Certifications

Bachelor's Degree required; paralegal certificate or equivalent legal training preferred

Experience

Minimum of 7 years of progressive paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department

Demonstrated expertise in contract law and related legal functions

Technical Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), including version control and track changes

Highly skilled in Adobe Acrobat and PDF editing tools

Strong written and verbal communication skills via email and formal correspondence

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
