About the Role:
The Team:
The S&P Global Ratings Finance team partners with business leadership to support the overall growth of the S&P Ratings Division that provides credit ratings for debt and loan issuers. The team works extensively with all key functions within our Ratings Commercial Organization and partners closely with SPGI's corporate finance team to support the corporate monthly, quarterly, and annual earnings and budgeting activities.
The Impact:
We are looking for a candidate who will assist in supporting our sales and commercial leadership team with insights gained from analyzing company performance data. The ideal candidate is adept at combining data analytic tools and techniques with business expertise to identify the key drivers of performance. They must be able to translate information into actionable insights to find opportunities for product optimization and use models to test the effectiveness of different courses of action. They must have experience building and implementing financial models and using a variety of data analysis tools. They must have a proven ability to drive business results with their data-based insights. The role will have the opportunity to present findings in group settings.

Responsibilities:
Assist with providing effective finance decision support for the S&P Ratings Commercial organization, including regular interaction with members of sales team.
Develop relationships with members of the sales team to assist them with reviews of expenses, pricing proposals, discount reviews, revenue forecasting and other ad hoc analyses.
Accumulate data from various company sources to assist in the preparation of monthly financial deliverables.
Track operational expenses and research expense trends.
Contribute to the monthly estimate and yearly budget process through development of models and forecasting tools as well as market research, discussion with sales team, etc.
Combine metrics from multiple data sources to create new insights into what is going on in the business.
Assist in special projects or key initiatives.
Continuously evaluate and improve the team's internal tools, processes and capabilities related to data acquisition, transformation, analysis, and distribution to support the dynamic and growing nature of S&P Global Ratings' information needs.
Assist in working with groups globally to define and periodically refine key performance indicators and targets that measure results against intended business outcomes. Improve the decision-making environment by enabling efficient and effective information delivery capabilities.
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $85,773 to $148,762.5. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

What We're Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Math or related field.
5+ years' work experience in Financial Analysis, Operations, and/or Accounting in a large, complex organization.
Demonstrated investigative research and analytical capabilities necessary to provide the leadership team with the accurate and insightful interpretation of financial information.
Strong understanding of financial planning and analysis as well as business partnering
Possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions for operational and financial problems.
Experienced in dashboard design and focused, thoughtful visual display of quantitative information.
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, QlikView, Power BI, SmartView, Anaplan, Alteryx, and Tableau or other database tools a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
