Auto Assembler III

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assembles, welds, and fits together parts to form a complete unit or system.

Calibrates and regulates units and final assemblies to meet operating requirements.

Uses a variety of shop equipment such as: crane, welders, and cut off saws.

Uses a variety of individually supplied hand tools such as tape measures, sockets, screwdrivers, wrenches, etc.

Uses a variety of company-supplied tools such as electric sanders, grinders, drills and other power tools.

Must be able to communicate effectively, get along with co-workers, and deal with colleagues effectively and professionally.

A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Cleans work area on a daily basis.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

Can manufacture and assemble NLB engineered systems only with close direction and supervision.

Possess basic mechanical knowledge & skills.

Ability to do Mig welding and plasma cutting on carbon materials.

Ability to use all shop-related equipment and possess a general understanding of blueprints.

6 Months to 3 years experience.

Ability to work with minimal assistance from manager.

High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

Prefer vocational/trade school training.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Ability to be trained to operate warehouse equipment such as hand truck.

Ability to pass Hi-Lo Driver Exam and receive a Hi-lo License.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, sit, climb, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, reach, bend, squat, reach overhead, and work from the floor and work on ladders. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is sometimes loud.
