The Role
Reporting to the Retail Manager, Bunkhouse & JdV, the Retail Assistant & E-Commerce Coordinator is responsible for providing superior service in all guest interactions, inventory control, and administration of e-commerce and retail in coordination.
Responsibilities will include:
Address and fix any issues the properties are experiencing with Shopify, including issues with shipping, payments, website updates, updating website pages and general info, etc.
Regularly refresh each property's website, including updating layouts, lifestyle photos, copy, product photos, product descriptions, core collections, seasonal collections, etc.
Work with the Retail Manager to plan gift shop and minibar product assortments for each hotel that represent the property brand and company vision.
Assist in vendor sourcing, product selection and development of custom goods.
Act as a liaison between the hotels, retail vendors and corporate office.
Manage administrative duties related to buying - ordering, tracking production, and payments.
Help develop retail specific sales and marketing strategies, including social, eblast content and press pitches.
Track sales of both in-store and online product with monthly, seasonal and year end reports, as well as project and event recaps.
Lead monthly retail meetings with General Manager and on-property retail representatives to resolve any ordering or inventory issues.
Work with General Managers to ensure on-property retail staff have product knowledge and sufficient training to successfully sell merchandise.
Style and refresh merchandise and retail displays.
Pull monthly retail reports for marketing memos sent out to property owners, including top 5 best-sellers by quantity, top 5 best-sellers by revenue, and Shopify analytics.
Coordinate all new product photography with photographer, including:
Create shot list with Retail Manager;
Pick up products from properties;
Deliver products to photographer;
Return products to properties;
Manage invoices from photographer;
Add new photos to websites as they come in.
Coordinates Lifestyle photo shoots of retail merch with properties, including;
Create shot list with Retail Manager and Content Director;
Work on-site during photo shoots to style photos;
Slot photos into social calendar as they come in.
Maintain folders of retail e-commerce photos and lifestyle photos organized.
Collaborate with marketing team to select photos and suggest copy for weekly Instagram posts.
Track e-commerce trends across all property websites.
Communicate clearly and authentically with online customers.
Assist in the development and implementation of special projects, i.e. Holiday sales, press kits, pop ups, etc.
Always ensure open lines of communication with all departments and upper management via email, Basecamp, meetings, etc., to ensure all needs of the hotel are met.
Ensure immediate response is given to any and all guest comments and concerns and inform immediate supervisor and assist implementing corrective measure when necessary.

Qualifications
Experience Required
3 years experience in Retail Industry preferred.
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required, College Degree preferred.
Excellent verbal, written, graphic communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Proven track record of ethical conduct.
Problem solving / Analytical thinking skills.
Computer proficiency: MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Basecamp, Shopify, Outlook.
Inventory management experience required: COGS, Margins, and budgeting.
Positive attitude and a keen eye for detail.
