Position OverviewUnited Health Services (UHS) is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Accounts Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate processing and follow-up of all patient services, equipment, and supplies, playing a key part in ensuring timely reimbursement and positive patient experiences.
This position combines administrative precision with compassionate service. You'll work directly with patients to answer questions, resolve concerns, and guide them through billing and account-related processes. Compensation Range:
$15.61 - $23.45 per hour, depending on experience
Job Responsibilities
Receives and processes referrals and orders from UHS hospitals, physician offices, patients, and the showroom
Accurately enters referral and order information into the system and prints delivery tickets as needed
Schedules equipment and supply deliveries, coordinating with internal teams and external providers
Verifies patient insurance coverage and obtains prior authorizations in a timely manner
Tracks and maintains insurance authorizations to ensure compliance and prevent delays in service
Communicates effectively with patients, referral sources, physician offices, billing staff, and customer service to resolve issues and answer questions
Handles requests for corrections, missing information, and other documentation needed for account completion
Stays current on insurance policies, procedures, and regulatory updates to ensure accurate processing and reimbursement
Supports retail operations by assisting in the showroom as needed, including customer interactions and product inquiries
Makes weekly follow-up calls to patients using durable medical equipment (DME) to confirm satisfaction and address concerns
Ensures all interactions reflect a high level of customer service and professionalism
Contributes to process improvement efforts by identifying workflow gaps and sharing feedback with leadership

High School Diploma or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to resolve issues in real time while effectively managing a high volume of work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment?

Experience with durable medical equipment
