Corporate Senior Accountant Job Description
Position Title: Corporate Senior Accountant
Position Setting: In Office
Position summary:
The Corporate Senior Accountant will possess an understanding of financial accounting standards and procedures. The individual in this position will apply their knowledge to properly provide high level analysis to management. The right candidate will possess the ability to work in a fast pace, growing environment with a focus on reducing costs, improving revenue, and streamlining systems.
Tasks:
Prepare monthly financial statements for multiple locations
Post journal entries for multiple locations
Possess an understanding of finance and accounting pertaining to sales, inventory, job costing and margin analysis.
Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly ensuring proper support for balances
Review, investigate, and resolve accounting errors, discrepancies, and reconciling items
Provide financial direction/support to shop managers/core management team
Review monthly trial balance and provide variance explanation
Prepare month-end financial notes and analysis to the shop managers and general managers
Review monthly WIP calculation for accuracy
Understanding of inventory concepts and controls
Represent accounting on project teams designed to improve operations, reduce costs, eliminate error, etc.
Grasp job costing and apply concepts
Perform other related duties as assigned
Skills:
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral format.
Organizational skills to meet all deadlines throughout the month and during month end
Advanced Excel skills
Work well with members of the accounting team
Excellent time management, communication, and leadership
Self-Motivated
Ability to adapt to a changing environment due to growth
Experience and Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting (Required)
10+ years' experience in accounting
