Results-driven Operations Manager to lead a team of Operations Specialists within our Wealth Management (Private Bank) Organization. This role is central to ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and compliance of core operational processes. A solutions-oriented leader with deep experience in team management, process improvement, and operational risk mitigation.
Management & Leadership:
Lead, coach, and manage a team of Operations Specialists that support the controls and oversight function of Wealth Management Operations - Private Bank.
Establish clear performance expectations and support career growth.
Builds an interdependent team that collaborate across functional and operating groups
Monitors and tracks performance and addresses any performance gaps.
Process Optimization & Risk Mitigation:
Follows through on risk and compliance processes and policies to ensure we safeguard our customers' assets
Monitors operational controls to identify any deficiencies and supports the initiation of appropriate corrective actions to ensure controls are adequate.
Analyze and enhance operational workflows to increase efficiency, reduce manual touchpoints, and mitigate risks.
Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure accuracy and reduce exposure to operational risk.
Regularly connects work to BMO's purpose, sets inspirational goals, defines clear expected outcomes, and ensures clear accountability for follow through.
Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement:
Serve as the escalation point for operational issues, resolving root causes through cross-functional collaboration.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence across the team.
Support the solution and implementation of addressing client concerns and escalations, as required.
Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business and the client.
Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
Models a mindset for continuous improvement and champions alternatives.
Performance Metrics & Reporting:
Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to service quality, compliance, and efficiency.
Identify trends, risks, and areas of opportunity through data analysis.
Coordinates and executes specific activities for the implementation of strategic initiatives; includes tracking metrics and milestones.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Projects:
Work closely with Technology, Risk, and Product teams to drive strategic operational initiatives.
Partners with our Compliance and Risk teams for enhancements to our business processes, address audit finding, and implement remediation plans when necessary.
Support system implementations, integrations, and upgrades from an business standpoint.
Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at reducing operational risk and improving client experience.
Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in financial operations, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role.
Skills & Competencies:
Supervisory/leadership experience
Strong knowledge of financial services operations
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to use data to drive decisions
Skilled in operational workflow tools and reporting platforms
Experience with workflow automation or operations technology platforms
Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Salary:
$72,500.00 - $134,500.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
