A day in the life of a Director, Supply Chain Accounting & Sales Audit at VF looks a little like this.
As part of VF Americas Accounting team, this role will strategically oversee all aspects of inventory accounting and reporting, distribution, adjustments to standards, standard cost accounting and sales audit. This role is critical in ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial information, optimizing operational efficiency, and driving strategic decision-making. The Director of Supply Chain Accounting and Sales Audit supports multiple brands across multiple countries and impacts inventory balances of $1.1B and standard cost of sales of $2.5B.

Accountable for overseeing the accurate tracking and valuation of inventory across multiple brands and distribution centers. Implement best practices for inventory control and reconciliation to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.
Responsible for the oversight and management of the accounting processes related to distribution activities, ensuring timely and accurate recording of transactions to support operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain robust standard costing systems to support product costing, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis, enhancing strategic financial planning.
Lead the sales audit function to ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures. Identify and mitigate risks related to retail operations; comprised of approximately 757 owned retail stores, e-commerce, and multiple marketplaces with planned revenues of $3.4B.
Responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely recording of inventory transactions, including purchases, transfers, and adjustments. Reconcile inventory accounts and resolve discrepancies to maintain financial integrity.
Review and manage excess and obsolete inventory reserves to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective inventory management.
Responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and timely completion of all related activities to support accurate financial reporting.
Oversee key SOX controls within domains of responsibility to ensure compliance with legal and accounting requirements. Partner with internal and external auditors to support audit activities and maintain financial integrity.
Ensure a successful partnership and performance of our outsourcing partner, aligning their efforts with VF's strategic objectives.
Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development to build a high-performing team.
What do you need to succeed?
We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day. For this role, there are foundation skills you'll need to succeed and excel. Additionally, while formal education in a related field is great to have, we are most interested in your 10-12 years of experience and professional achievements.
The foundation skills you will need in this position are:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
Deep understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills are required; ability to apply systems knowledge to troubleshoot and analyze new issues.
Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Travel by air and overnight, as required 10% amount of time.
Location requirement: While this position is fully remote, the ideal candidate will reside within Wisconsin.
There are also a few skills that are not required but preferred.
Experience in a multi-brand, multi-national organization.

Hiring Range :
$160,000.00 USD - $200,000.00 USD annually
Incentive Potential : This position is eligible for additional compensation awards that may include an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
