Job Description

As an Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for researching and resolving short and long-term promotional deals per the division aging report. Your role will involve performing aging analysis at the beginning of each new period to identify deals with large dollar losses, ensuring funds are recovered promptly. You will prepare weekly and period balancing schedules to ensure financial data reported on the Trade Funds report is accurate and current. Additionally, you will research vendor repay requests on previously reconciled deals to assist in dispute resolution. You will play a key role in the period-end close process to ensure reconciled deals are removed from the aging report. Moreover, you will provide support and feedback to department management regarding deal reconciliation issues and work specific deals identified by management needing attention.

Responsibilities

Research and resolve short and long-term promotional deals per the division aging report.

Perform aging analysis at the beginning of each new period to identify deals with large dollar losses.

Prepare weekly and period balancing schedules to ensure the accuracy of financial data reported on the Trade Funds report.

Research vendor repay requests on previously reconciled deals to assist in resolving disputes.

Assist in the period-end close process to ensure reconciled deals are removed from the aging report.

Provide support and feedback to department management regarding deal reconciliation issues.

Work on specific deals identified by management that require attention.

Analyze promotional deals to ensure they are applied correctly and savings are passed to the grocery store.

Essential Skills

Experience with promotions, accruals, and reconciliations.

Proficiency in PeopleSoft and Excel.

Detail-oriented with strong reconciliation skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

6+ months of Accounting or Finance experience preferred.

Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Experience with PeopleSoft, Balances, SCM, DemandTec preferred.

Work Environment

The role offers a hybrid schedule, with Monday and Friday work from home, and Tuesday to Thursday in the office once permanent. During the contract period, the position will be fully onsite.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
