The Motorsports Truck Driver would have an important role on the Pratt Miller Motorsports Team and have responsibilities both at the shop and track. The role is based at Pratt Miller's headquarters in New Hudson, MI and requires travel to IMSA races and team tests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provide adequate communication of needs to the managers
Align processes and quality of work with overall team expectation
Know the electronic logging for the Race Tractors in addition to working with the Pratt Miller operational staff to align the Race Operations practices with the company
Work with appropriate groups within Pratt Miller to ensure that tractors and trailers have the proper licensing and permitting
Identify opportunities for improvement and help formulate a plan for improvements
Execution of routine and emergency maintenance for the tractor and trailer fleet preparation and maintenance
Perform pre- and post-trip inspections
Ability to obtain a passport and travel via international border land crossings within North America.
Truck Inventory
Utilize team checklist and other processes to ensure that each truck has proper inventory for each event, noting that the inventory may differ for each event- such as track spare parts
Ensure all truck drivers utilize and adhere to the same processes
Trackside execution
Unload and load trailers
Make sure tractor/trailer presentation and cleaning is performed
Truck driver roles at the track include, but are not limited to:
Pit lane setup
Stocking pit equipment with necessary supplies
Maintaining and cleaning pit equipment
Team hospitality support
Shop Execution
Organization and cleanliness of work area
Ensure all necessary changes/repairs are done to pit equipment between events
Work with the Lead Truck Driver to create a common level of preparation on all the race car equipment
Bring any issues to Lead Truck Driver and Operations Manager for solutions
Maintain proper care for the equipment at all times
Help with feedback on the long-term equipment planning and process improvement
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In addition to the responsibilities mentioned above, tasks relating to the following area will be assigned as required:
Support Pratt Miller initiatives such as marketing events
Attend monthly meetings with the Operations Manager on current and future goals
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
5 years or greater commercial driving experience with valid CDL for manual transmission
2 years or greater IMSA motorsports experience or equivalent
CDL and clean driving record required
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Stress may occur periodically
Long hours may be required at times
Physical labor is a regular part of daily work
Travel of up to 60% is required including holidays and weekends

Pay Range:
$63,500.00 - $101,700.00
The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
